Creativity & Culture

Tomorrow Museum
A collection of interesting ideas about culture and technology curated by Joanne McNeil. Honestly, I find at least two or three links I want to click on in every one of her posts.

P.O.V.
Oh, how I heart P.O.V. – an indie film series on PBS featuring “documentaries with a point of view.” Amazing films, usually about critical social issues, with carefully crafted online features that perfectly complement each film.

Anonymous Works
Bizarrely wonderful blog featuring images of “American primitive folk art, vernacular photography, outsider art” and “basically anything visually interesting and great” that the blogger, who just goes by Joey, encounters.

Wish Jar
A blog by artist Keri Smith, author of Wreck this Journal and The Guerrilla Art Kit, among others

Independent Lens
Another indie film series on PBS, with great features like 30 Years in the History of Music Sampling.

Creative Liberty
A site dedicated to “facilitating creative flow and reducing creative angst.” Amen!

Friends

Wired for Music
My husband Jordan’s blog about music and technology, complete with some excellent playlists.

kthread (Kristen Taylor)
Kristen and I share the belief that life = art. On her blog, Kristen chronicles her life, with an emphasis on her sumptuous experiences with food. Don’t miss her photos (warning, do not view when hungry!).

Christa in NY
I met Christa through her blog, which I found when I was planning my move to NY. She chronicles her efforts to live a creative and hopeful life.

Don’t Know Better
Online home of the one, the only: Aparna Nancherla – rising comedy star (seriously – she will be famous) and friend.

One Per Week
My friend Katie, a photographer, is experimenting with blogging to figure out what she wants to write about most.

Point Break of the Speed Matrix
Tara is FUNNY (and her Mac is named Keanu – hence the site name…).
